Plumbing Drain Pipes

Drain pipes are made of cast iron, clay, copper DWV, old lead, plastic ABS, plastic PVC. Copper drain pipe and fittings along with cast iron no-hub are more expensive. Copper pipe and fittings require a brush to clean the fittings then flux is applied with a flux brush. Mapp gas torch or a B-tank turbo torch will heat the copper fitting as lead free solder is applied into the joint. Rags are used to wipe off the excess flux. Cast iron no-hub or hub-less pipe is called the quiet drain pipe used mostly in commercial buildings. Special rubber couplings called no-hub couplings size 2", 3", and 4" are use to connect cast iron no-hub pipe and fittings. Cast iron SV pipe is used mainly under ground. Special no-hub couplings called mission band or fernco band are made to connect drain pipe of different size called reducing bands and different pipe material. Example is Cast iron to copper, cast iron to galvanized, cast iron to clay, extra heavy cast iron to ABS and PVC plastic drain pipe. Mission band and fernco band are available in all shapes and sizes. We fix drain leaks. Please call Adams Plumbing at 720-212-4487 for details.

Prevent Mold

High water pressure, water hammer, weak valves & solder joints when exposed to sub-zero weather with closed kitchen and bathroom vanity sink cabinet doors, not to mention exterior non insulated wet walls, are the leading cause of frozen pipe breaks and expensive water damage. Minimize water damage and mold growth by installing a quality Ridgid or Zoeller sump pump and a very active floor drain.
